31 Grace-full Days: Day 13 – Hope

Why, my soul, are you downcast? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God. – Psalm 43:5

Hope. It’s something many people are without. This life, this existence. Is that all there is?

I wish I had better words to describe the hope I have because of Christ. The reason for my faith escapes words most of the time. I want to impart the “feeling” I have but I am lost for words.

Because of Christ, I have hope. I know that there is something, someone bigger than me. I may have troubles and difficulties. I may experience pain and suffering. But in all things, I have hope because I am not alone. There’s more at work underneath what I can see. I have seen the evidence of that in my life and that is why I can trust that God holds me and cares for me in the midst. The many years of seeing God’s faithfulness gives me hope for today.

My Grace-full pause: Put my hope in him even when I can’t see or feel his working.
